Villa Desa Roro

Located in a quiet lane in Canggu, Villa Desa Roro is a traditional Balinese family villa featuring three pavilions that comprise the five bedrooms, living areas, and the dining areas. The outdoor landscaping of the villa enhances the natural environment and accentuates the raw beauty of the tropical foliage, with wide lawns for badminton and garden games. The 12-metre swimming pool is the perfect spot for some relaxation and you have the luxury of indulging in a spa session in the private spa corner. A large, friendly staff team prepares home-cooked meals, BBQs and spa treatments on request, and a new garden event space can host celebrations of up to 100 guests (on request, subject to approval).

Outdoor and Pool area

The villa has been designed in a way that includes three different pavilions featuring gladak roofs. The sprawling gardens have been structured around these pavilions so guests can have access to the tropical bounty from all the various places at the villa. Kids and adults have plenty of room to play on the wide lawns, and a large outdoor family table under the trees is perfect for long dinner set-ups. A new event space in the garden can host celebrations of up to 100 guests, arranged on request and subject to approval. A 12-metre swimming pool resides in the middle of lush vegetation, and as you swim laps in the pool or merely float around in it, you can breathe in the fresh air and feel your worries seep away from your body. Lounge on the sun chairs, read a book or enjoy some chilled cocktails as you work on your holiday tan!

Living Areas

The open-plan Joglo is the main living pavilion at Villa Desa Roro and it is home to an abundance of Indonesian paintings, sculptures, and intriguing artefacts that invite you to spend time in an authentic Balinese home. The Joglo is furnished with comfortable sofas, ideal for napping or relaxation and the unique décor will ensure that you spend your time in a warm and homely atmosphere.

The indoor dining area is furnished with a teakwood dining table and comfy rattan chairs, and the open-concept allows you to appreciate and relish the stunning scenery right from the comfort of the villa's living spaces. The large outdoor table is made for bigger family dinners.

A fully-equipped modern kitchen, with an espresso machine, blender and juicer, is also accessible to the guests and it comes with a wine cooler, so you can have a glass or two once the sun sets and it is time for some tranquil moments with your friends and family. There is a wide range of board games, including a poker set, Scrabble, Monopoly and Jenga, and a dedicated desk in a corner of the living area for anyone who needs to work.

Bedrooms

Villa Desa Roro boasts five individually housed bedrooms spread between three pavilions, which are designed in a traditional Balinese manner with vibrant colors and handcrafted woodwork. While the master bedroom is housed in its private pavilion, the other four bedrooms are found in two pavilions. Each bedroom has direct access to the well-manicured gardens of the villa, as well as the swimming pool. The spacing of the pavilions allows for easy movement and ensures that you get to reap the benefits of the expansive property.

All five bedrooms are air-conditioned and are furnished with canopied, king-sized beds that feature sheer, white curtains that act as mosquito nets. Asian-style rugs on the hardwood flooring and the high-vaulted ceiling allow for cross-ventilation. Two of the bedrooms share a furnished, private terrace and the other two have a common living area between them. There are games and dining areas in these communal spaces so you have everything you need. Each bedroom has an en-suite bathroom.

The master bedroom enjoys the luxury of a bathtub, its own massage bed, a lounge area with a large Smart TV with streaming services, and a desk. Baby cots, high chairs and babysitting are available on request.

Staff & Services

You will feel right at home at Villa Desa Roro as the staff is exceptionally skilled at making you comfortable and looking after your needs. A large team looks after everything, and their home-cooked meals are a guest favourite, from breakfast spreads to candlelit dinners and BBQ feasts, prepared and served on request. Unwind with a massage in the massage gazebo, which has two massage beds, or in the privacy of your master suite. Meals, BBQ and spa treatments are organized on request at an additional cost.

Around the Villa

Located at walking distance from Berawa beach, guests have the luxury of exploring Canggu on bicycles or on foot, as the serene and quiet ambiance is perfect for long walks and uninterrupted fun at the beach. Mata Berawa, on the villa's own street, serves honest Indonesian dishes, and Milk & Madu Berawa is a family favourite with a kids' playground and a children's menu. Finn's Beach Club is the spot for sunset drinks. Seminyak with it’s wide range of restaurants, cocktail bars, private spas and boutiques is also only a 10 minutes drive away.
